The Heroes & Hope Foundation invites 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that align with our focus areas to submit a grant application. To be eligible, an organization must be located within a 30-mile radius of any of our corporate offices, distribution centers or retail stores, in order to support the communities we serve together.

Supporting the communities we serve is core to our purpose. Since 2015, the Heroes & Hope Foundation has supported more than $17 million to nonprofit partners, including organizations that:

• Provide meals through food banks and pantries

• Deliver food and water during natural disasters

• Support veterans, military families and first responders

• Offer training and nutrition education for Special Olympics athletes

• Equip young people with career and life skills

Areas:

Heroes: Programs that support U.S. military service members, veterans and their families; first responders and frontline workers; company volunteers; and disaster relief efforts.

Hope: Programs that support career training and pathways, reduce food waste and fight food insecurity, and provide a more sustainable environment.

Grant applications can be submitted once annually. Grants are reviewed and approved by the Heroes & Hope Foundation Board of Trustees during quarterly meetings.

Grant application deadlines for 2026 are:

• Friday, April 10, 2026

• Friday, July 24, 2026

• Friday, Sept. 18, 2026

• Friday, Dec. 18, 2026

Completed grants should be submitted as one file and emailed to foundation@spartannash.com. Grant applicants will be notified of their status within two weeks of the board meeting.
