James B. and Lois R. Archer Charitable Foundation provides grants to qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations across the United States, with a focus on the areas of Arts & Culture, Civic & Public Affairs, Education, Health, and Human Services.

• Arts and Culture

Our Foundation is dedicated to supporting the arts and culture as essential elements that enrich and define our communities. Through our funding, we aim to support organizations and initiatives that provide access to the arts, promote cultural heritage, and encourage creative innovation.

• Civic and Public Affairs

Our Foundation is dedicated to supporting organizations and initiatives that promote civic engagement and strengthen public affairs. We aim to empower individuals and communities to have a meaningful impact on the issues that affect them. Our giving in this area supports efforts that foster a more engaged, informed, and equitable society, where the voices of all individuals are heard and valued in shaping public policy and civic life.

• Education

Our Foundation is committed to supporting educational initiatives that provide equitable access to learning and foster the development of critical skills for individuals of all ages. We aim to support programs that promote academic achievement, encourage lifelong learning, and prepare individuals for success in a rapidly changing world.

• Health

Our Foundation is committed to supporting initiatives that improve health and well-being, with a focus on promoting access to quality care and addressing health disparities. We support programs that advance healthcare access, promote prevention and wellness, and tackle the root causes of health inequities.

• Human Services

Our Foundation is dedicated to supporting human services initiatives that address the immediate and long-term needs of individuals and families, particularly those facing challenges such as poverty, homelessness, and hardship. We aim to empower organizations that provide critical services such as housing, food security, mental health support, and workforce development.

The Foundation provides grants throughout the United States, but tries to allocate at least one-third of its grant resources to organizations helping those in the West Texas area. Applications for specific programs or projects, capital projects, and general operations are considered.

The deadline for the Spring/Summer Cycle is April 30 and the deadline for the Fall/Winter Cycle is October 31.
