Global EbA Fund provides grants of up to $250,000 for small-size projects and $500,000 for medium-size projects supporting innovative and scalable Ecosystem-based Adaptation initiatives. Funding supports organizations working to strengthen climate resilience through biodiversity and ecosystems, including capacity building, applied research, policy integration, investment readiness, innovative finance, and locally led adaptation. Projects must demonstrate how ecosystem-based approaches reduce climate vulnerability and create benefits for both people and nature.

What does it fund?

The Fund supports Ecosystem-based Adaptation (EbA)—using biodiversity, ecosystems, and nature-based solutions to reduce people's vulnerability to climate change.

Examples could include projects involving:

• Forests, wetlands, mangroves, grasslands, coral reefs, and coastal ecosystems

• Climate resilience and adaptation

• Ecosystem restoration tied to climate adaptation

• Institutional and technical capacity building

• Applied research addressing barriers to EbA

• Climate/adaptation policy

• Indigenous and community-led adaptation

• Developing projects that are ready for larger-scale climate investment

• Innovative climate financing

• Building evidence and data demonstrating how EbA works

Importantly, this is not simply a conservation grant. The project needs to show a clear connection between the ecosystem intervention and reducing climate vulnerability or increasing the resilience of people and ecosystems.
